We love checking out new coffee shops in every city we visit and around town here in Dallas. Each place we’ve been to is unique in concept, style, and has it’s own vibe. We can’t help but crave a cup from the Filling Station in Kansas City, MadCap in Grand Rapids, and of course Oddfellows here in Dallas. Mokah Coffee Bar in Deep Ellum is another of our favorite places for a few reasons. Not only are they located in the same building as our studio, but their coffee is amazing! We always keep a pound at home for french press and chemex. We also love the staff! Tyler and Stephanie are a newly married couple that moved to Dallas with a love of good coffee and good local music. Not only are these two great baristas, but they are incredible musicians as well! We love seeing their faces every time we walk in the door. Tonight Mokah is hosting a lounge show to showcase some local talent. We can’t wait to grab a latte and see some familiar faces!

Beto and I have done a lot of soul searching these past few months. A new brand and a new website are incredible, don’t get me wrong… but the process is what we needed most. We thought what we needed were updated colors and consistency with our brand. What we realized we really needed was to dig deep and put words to who we are and what our life is about. With all the changes we’ve made for our business, we decided it was also time to make a change for our personal life. We want to take notice of the little things in life that make living so great. We want to document the mundane. To carry our camera on days together. Normal every days when we’re at home making coffee or when we’re out to lunch. Those are the times I want to remember the most. I want to one day remember what it felt like in our shoes today – enjoying the last of our twenties, soaking in the moments, and loving our life together.

A couple of days ago Beto and I were out running errands and decided to grab a burger at one of our new favorite places – Stackhouse!! It’s located in Deep Ellum just a few blocks from our studio. DANGEROUS! I love the cute house, the burgers are delish, and we love any place with local brews on tap! Every now and then you just need a big greasy burger and a beer! Cheers!

If you know us, then you know that we are big foodies. We love good eats so much we decided to spend our 6-year anniversary filled with some of our favorites. One of the most memorable meals during our weekend anniversary trip was brunch at La Duni. If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor! La Duni is home to some of the best coffee in town. We had such a great time reminiscing and feeling extra grateful for six happy years. Cheers!
